Championing our healthcare professionals: Smith & Nephew launches awareness campaign

Smith & Nephew (LSE: SN, NYSE: SNN), the global medical technology business, is today launching an awareness campaign to highlight the important work done by healthcare professionals.

Smith & Nephew has been supporting healthcare professionals for over 150 years. Today, the Company works with surgeons and nurses to provide life-changing treatments, to develop innovative products and, through the provision of medical education, to enhance skills and widen access to advanced medical technology. Smith & Nephew representatives see, first-hand, the extraordinary work these surgeons and nurses do, often in high-pressure, challenging situations, and has developed this campaign to highlight the crucial contribution these individuals make to society.

The campaign will launch with a series of advertisements in the UK & Ireland. These will feature in the national press and run on billboards. The advertisements are designed to increase public awareness of the important work these professionals do, and the skills they need to perform at the highest level.

Commenting on the launch, Smith & Nephew’s Chief Executive Officer Olivier Bohuon said:

“Smith & Nephew is proud to support the vital role that surgeons and nurses play in society. They are highly skilled professionals facing intense pressures every day of their working lives. We make the products that help them do their job and they are essential in helping us innovate.

“Surgeons and nurses deserve our support and our respect.  You can have the best products in the world but they are nothing without the right pair of hands to use them.”
