It is with deep regret that I share with you the sad news of the passing of Olivier Bohuon, who served as CEO of Smith+Nephew from 2011-2018. While I had the pleasure of meeting Olivier only briefly, I know that many of you remember Olivier as a respected leader, colleague and friend who will be dearly missed.
Olivier made many contributions to Smith+Nephew during his time at Smith+Nephew; perhaps most significant were the steps he took to break down operational silos to move us toward becoming a true portfolio medical device company, the development of our Emerging Markets business and his investment in R&D, all of which we continue to see the benefits of today. Olivier was also committed to building our culture and firmly believed in Smith+Nephew’s ability to win.
I know you will join me in extending our deepest condolences to Olivier’s wife, Alexandra and their three adult children.
