Grants and sponsorship for healthcare professionals
Smith+Nephew global grants, donations and third-party support requests
Smith+Nephew offers grants, product donations and charitable contributions to support medical education, patient care and the advancement of medical technology and policy.
All requests are reviewed by a committee taking into consideration objective criteria such as content, audience, location and available budget. S+N receives hundreds of requests annually; thus, not all requests will be funded given limited resources and funding. Requests will not be granted to individuals.
We kindly ask that all requests be submitted a minimum of 60 (sixty) days in advance.
As a reminder, funds or in-kind support are not intended to reward or obligate the requestor to purchase, prescribe or recommend the use of Smith+Nephew products, services and solutions. Additionally, our sales organisation and distributors cannot make charitable or grant commitments on behalf of Smith+Nephew.

- Funding or in-kind support used to support third-party educational course/meeting/conference.
- Funding to support general fundraising efforts for organisations that align with business strategy.
Third-party sponsorships and exhibits

Sponsorship requests
- Funding is used to offset general course expenses.
- May include the opportunity to present industry session, workshop, roundtable, dinner sponsorship, satellite symposium, labs etc.
- May provide additional benefits such as a list of registrants before the event or funding will be used to offset a meal.
- Supporters listed as "Sponsor" on all acknowledgements.
Fellowship grant
Funding to institutions to support fellowship programmes.
- A restricted grant provided to institutions to support fellowship programmes by funding expenses directly related to the fellow. Funding may cover reasonable costs to the fellowship programme, such as salaries, educational materials, and cost associated with labs. Our goal is to enhance learning opportunities and supplement education for the year of fellowship. In countries with respective transparency requirements, all support is reportable as an indirect transfer of value to the fellow in accordance with applicable laws and codes of practice.
- Fellowship grants are provided solely to eligible institutions or organisations, not to individuals. Smith+Nephew does not participate in or influence the criteria for selection of individual fellows, which remains the sole responsibility of the receiving institution.
- Fellowship support is intended exclusively for scientific and educational advancement, not for promotional or commercial purposes.
- Fellowship requests must be submitted within the application period designated by Smith+Nephew.

Review process
Each request is reviewed for compliance with our support criteria and policies, alignment with the company's mission and available resources. Sponsorships, fellowships, grants and donations are not awarded based on the use, purchase, or recommendation of Smith+Nephew company products. We report all third-party support provided in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Only completed and submitted applications will be eligible for review. Once the request has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the appropriate team for potential support based on alignment to current business strategy and available resources. You will be notified of the status of your request.
